Have you ever…

Have you ever had your mouth watering for something so delicious?  Just the idea of taking the first bite already has your mouth watering.  Only to find out you don’t have all of the ingredients?

That’s the worst feeling in the world!! And I’m glad I can share my pain with you.

So here’s the scenario…I’m watching my new favorite show “The Kitchen,” it comes on the Food Network on Saturdays at 11am(Eastern). They chef was making a chocolate dessert, and all of a sudden I want chocolate… OOOOhhhh….BROWNIES!!!

I walk to the kitchen, take out the butter and eggs.  Grab the mixing bowl and paddle.  Then to the pantry for flour….then I realized I didn’t have sugar. 😦  What chef doesn’t have sugar?

I still haven’t given up on my brownie dreams, so I began to franticly search the pantry for a substitute sweetener.  Agave syrup, honey, brown sugar, powdered sugar…hot chocolate packets.

Eureka!! I think I’ve got it!! To Goggle I go…

I found a couple of recipes online for “Hot Chocolate Brownies,” I finally chose one but of course I tweaked it some.  Due to the fact that hot chocolate sometimes has an artificial sweetener taste and the original recipe calls for chocolate chips, I wanted to add some coca powder for a good chocolate taste. (Since I was craving chocolate).  I also needed to add some sugar to cut the artificial sugar taste.

I also added a secret ingredient to the brownie mix, can you guess what it is?  This is something that I add to anything chocolate…have an idea yet?  Comment below if you can figure out the secret ingredient.

You can check out the original recipe by clicking here.
